I’ve found a great podcast on mindfulness meditation as a treatment for depression that I wanted to share: “Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy” from Mark Williams and Danny Penman. It covers some of the differences between mindfulness meditation and transcendental meditation (TM), how mindfulness is effective as a treatment based on what is known of neuroscience and how the mind works. It covers both the religious foundations of mindfulness in Buddhism and how it’s become secularized for treating depression. Give it a listen if you have some time!
