Supreme Court delivered a victory for mental health care

Just a quick note on today’s 6-3 decision in King v. Burwell… Of the roughly 5-6 million people who receive subsidies through the federal exchanges there are likely many who struggle with some kind of mental health issue. The decision to allow those subsidies to continue (clearly the intent of the Affordable Care Act) means that those people will keep their coverage and will be able to seek help. Having access to care and the ability to pay for therapy and medication is critical to recovery. Obamacare isn’t perfect, but to go back to the previous health insurance system is unthinkable.
