Two-thirds of gun deaths in the US are suicides

Watch this eye-opening video from Vox.com:

I’ve said before and I’ll say it again- if I had access to a gun the morning I tried to kill myself I have no doubt I would not be here today. The discussion here about the impulsive nature of suicidal thoughts and actions and the rate at which suicide attempts by gun are fatal (over 90%) versus other methods such as poisoning/overdosing and cutting (about 6%) backs up my assertion. While there’s not a single actionable prescriptive solution offered here (other than citing steps taken in nations without a Second Amendment problem) it’s critical that we talk more about suicide methodology and the role guns play in killing so many people.
